Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate Coating
- 8 oz white chocolate chips (or milk chocolate)
- 8 oz dark chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for smooth melting)
Pretzels and Decorations
- 12-15 small pretzels (square or round)
- 1/4 cup pastel sprinkles
- 1/4 cup mini candy eggs or Easter-themed candies
Instructions
- Prepare the baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent the pretzels from sticking when the chocolate sets.
- Melt the chocolate: In two separate microwave-safe bowls, melt the white chocolate chips and dark chocolate chips in 20-second intervals, stirring well after each interval. Once smooth, stir in the vegetable oil to achieve a glossy, smooth consistency.
- Dip the pretzels: Using a fork, dip each pretzel into the melted chocolate, coating it completely or partially according to preference. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing it on the baking sheet.
- Decorate: Immediately after dipping, sprinkle the pretzels with pastel sprinkles or place mini candy eggs on top while the chocolate is still wet to ensure they stick.
- Set the chocolate: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden completely.
- Serve & enjoy: Once the chocolate is set, transfer the chocolate-covered pretzels to a serving dish and enjoy your festive Easter treat.
Notes
- Use vegetable oil for smoother chocolate melting, but avoid using too much to keep chocolate from becoming too runny.
- For easier removal, use parchment paper or a silicone mat on the baking sheet.
- Store leftover pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate to keep chocolate crisp.
- Customize decorations with your preferred Easter-themed candies or colored sugar.
