Ingredients
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened and xylitol-free)
- ½ cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- Silicone paw or bone-shaped molds
Instructions
- Prepare the mixture: Add the plain Greek yogurt and fresh or frozen blueberries to a blender or food processor. Blend until the mixture is smooth and well combined. If desired, incorporate 1 tablespoon of honey for a hint of natural sweetness—but ensure to check with your vet before adding honey.
- Fill the molds: Pour the blended mixture evenly into silicone paw or bone-shaped molds. Tap the molds gently on the counter to release any trapped air bubbles for smooth treats.
- Freeze the treats: Place the filled molds in the freezer and freeze for at least 3 to 4 hours or until the treats are completely solid.
- Store and serve: Once frozen, carefully pop the treats out of the molds and store them in a freezer-safe bag or container. Serve these cool treats to your dog as a healthy snack especially on warm days or after exercise.
Notes
- Always choose plain yogurt with no added sugars or artificial sweeteners such as xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
- These frozen treats should be given in moderation and as part of a balanced diet for your dog.
- Consult your veterinarian before introducing any new ingredients like honey into your pet’s diet.
