Description

Easter Dirt Cups are a fun and festive no-bake dessert perfect for celebrating spring and Easter. Layers of creamy chocolate pudding, crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, and green-tinted coconut “grass” are topped with candy eggs and bunny-shaped marshmallows to create an adorable and delicious treat that’s as delightful to look at as it is to eat.

Ingredients

Scale

Pudding Mixture

  • 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed

Dirt and Decoration

  • 15 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed into crumbs
  • ½ cup shredded coconut
  • Green food coloring, a few drops
  • 1215 candy eggs (mini chocolate eggs or jelly beans)
  • 68 bunny-shaped marshmallows or candies
  • 68 small clear plastic cups

Instructions

  1. Make the pudding: In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until well combined. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to thicken properly.
  2. Fold in whipped topping: Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the thickened pudding until the mixture is smooth and creamy, ensuring an airy texture.
  3. Tint the coconut “grass”: In a small bowl, add a few drops of green food coloring to the shredded coconut and stir until the coconut is evenly tinted a grassy green color.
  4. Assemble the dirt cups: Spoon the chocolate pudding mixture into the clear plastic cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
  5. Add the cookie “dirt”: Sprinkle a layer of crushed chocolate sandwich cookies on top of the pudding to resemble soil or dirt.
  6. Top with coconut grass and candies: Add a sprinkle of the green coconut to resemble grass. Then decorate each cup with candy eggs and bunny-shaped marshmallows to create a festive Easter scene.
  7. Chill and serve: Place the assembled cups in the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld and the dessert set before serving.
