Description

This Easy Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta is a quick and flavorful dish combining tender Cajun-spiced chicken with a luscious creamy sauce, Parmesan cheese, and perfectly cooked penne pasta. Ideal for a comforting weeknight meal ready in just 25 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken & Seasoning

  • 2 chicken breasts, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Pasta & Sauce

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the sliced chicken breasts evenly with Cajun seasoning. Cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until both sides are golden brown and the chicken is cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the sauce: In the same skillet, pour in the heavy cream, chicken broth, and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir continuously to combine and let the mixture simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Combine pasta and chicken: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet along with the drained penne pasta. Toss everything together thoroughly so the pasta and chicken are well coated with the creamy Cajun sauce.
  5. Season and serve: Taste and adjust the seasoning by adding salt and pepper as desired. Serve the creamy Cajun chicken pasta immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and smoother sauce texture.
  • For a spicier kick, increase the amount of Cajun seasoning.
  • This dish pairs well with a simple green salad or steamed vegetables.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
