Description

Garlic Bread Taco Bites combine the comforting flavors of taco-seasoned ground beef with a crispy, buttery garlic biscuit crust. These mini bites are perfect appetizers for parties or casual gatherings, topped with melted cheddar and mozzarella cheese, sour cream, salsa, and fresh green onions for a flavorful Tex-Mex twist.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Garlic Biscuit Cups

  • 1 can (16 ounces) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

For the Taco Filling

  • 1/2 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

For Topping

  • Sour cream
  • Salsa
  • Chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Biscuit Cups: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a mini muffin tin. Separate each biscuit and cut it in half. Press each half into the bottom and sides of the muffin cups to form small crusts. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley, then brush the mixture lightly over each biscuit cup to add garlic flavor.
  2. Cook the Taco Meat: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef or turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart for even cooking. Drain any excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning and water, then let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  3. Assemble the Bites: Spoon the seasoned taco meat into each prepared biscuit cup. Top each with a combination of shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses to add melty, savory richness.
  4. Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the biscuit edges turn golden brown and the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve: Remove the bites from the oven and let them cool slightly before carefully removing them from the tin. Serve warm topped with sour cream, salsa, and chopped green onions as desired for a flavorful finish.

Notes

  • You can substitute biscuit dough with crescent roll dough or pizza dough for a different texture.
  • For extra heat and flavor, add jalapeños or black beans to the taco meat mixture.
