Instructions

  1. Season the chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides to enhance flavor.
  2. Cook the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Prepare the garlic: Lower the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic to the same skillet and sauté for about 1 minute while stirring constantly until fragrant. Add crushed red pepper flakes if desired for a spicy touch.
  4. Create the sauce: Pour in the chicken broth and lemon juice, scraping the skillet’s bottom to loosen browned bits. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly and concentrate flavors.
  5. Finish the sauce: Stir in chopped fresh parsley and optional butter, allowing the butter to melt for a richer sauce. Adjust seasoning with additional salt or pepper to taste.
