Description

Grilled Cheese Roll Ups are a quick, easy, and delicious snack or lunch option featuring rolled-up sandwich bread filled with melty American or cheddar cheese, pan-fried to golden perfection. Perfect for kids and adults alike, these cheesy roll ups can be customized with optional garlic powder or Italian seasoning to add extra flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 8 slices sandwich bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 8 slices American or cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • Optional: garlic powder or Italian seasoning for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread: Trim the crusts off each slice of bread. Using a rolling pin, flatten each slice to make it thin and easy to roll.
  2. Add Cheese and Roll: Place one slice of cheese on each piece of flattened bread. Roll up tightly, pressing the seam gently to seal.
  3. Heat the Skillet: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread softened butter on the outside of each roll up or brush the pan with melted butter.
  4. Cook the Roll Ups: Place roll ups seam-side down in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, turning until all sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted inside.
  5. Serve: Remove from skillet and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle garlic powder or Italian seasoning on the buttered outsides before grilling.
  • These roll ups make a great snack, lunch, or party finger food.
