Description

This Honey Garlic Lemon Pepper Chicken Thighs recipe features tender, juicy chicken thighs with a zesty lemon pepper seasoning, sweet honey, and savory garlic soy glaze. Quickly seared and simmered in a flavorful sauce, this dish delivers a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors, ideal for a weeknight dinner or a special meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Seasoning

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Lemon pepper seasoning, to taste (approx. 3 teaspoons)
  • 5 slices of lemon

Sauce

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Cooking oil, as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon pepper seasoning, and the juice of half a lemon until well combined. Set this sauce aside for later.
  2. Sear the Chicken: Heat cooking oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. While the oil heats up, pat the chicken thighs dry and season one side generously with salt and lemon pepper seasoning. Place the chicken in the skillet, seasoned side down, then season the other side. Sear the chicken until golden brown on both sides and nearly cooked through, approximately 12-15 minutes total.
  3. Simmer with Sauce and Lemon: When the chicken is almost done, reduce the heat to medium-low. Add lemon slices to the skillet, then pour in the prepared sauce. Turn the heat back up to medium until the sauce starts bubbling. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, spooning sauce over the chicken to baste and glaze it, allowing the sauce to thicken and the chicken to fully cook.
  4. Finishing Touches: After the sauce has thickened and the chicken is cooked through, remove the skillet from the heat. Allow the sauce to cool slightly, then spoon additional sauce over the chicken before serving. Remove lemon slices before plating and enjoy your flavorful chicken thighs!

Notes

  • Make sure to pat the chicken dry before seasoning to achieve a nice sear.
  • You can adjust the amount of lemon pepper seasoning to suit your taste preference.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, simmer a little longer but watch carefully to avoid burning.
  • Serve with steamed rice or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
