Description

This House Blend Homemade Nut Milk is a creamy and nutritious dairy-free alternative milk made from raw unsalted cashews and almonds. Quick to prepare using a high-speed blender, it’s naturally sweetened by nuts and lightly salted to enhance flavor. Perfect for those seeking a fresh, preservative-free nut milk for smoothies, coffee, or cereal.

Ingredients

Scale

Nut Milk Ingredients

  • 4 cups (930 g) water
  • 1 cup (120 g) raw unsalted cashews
  • 1/2 cup (85 g) raw unsalted almonds
  • 1/4 tsp Diamond Crystal kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add the cashews, almonds, water, and kosher salt into a high-speed blender. Using fresh raw unsalted nuts ensures the creamiest and most neutral-flavored milk.
  2. Blend Nuts and Water: Start blending on low speed to break down the nuts. Gradually increase the speed to high and blend for a total of 2 minutes until the mixture becomes super creamy and smooth.
  3. Strain the Milk: Pour the blended mixture through a nut milk bag to separate the nut pulp from the liquid. Gently squeeze the bag to extract as much milk as possible.
  4. Store Properly: Transfer the strained nut milk into a glass container and refrigerate. Use within 1 week for best freshness and flavor.

Notes

  • Use raw unsalted nuts to avoid added flavors and salts that can alter the milk’s taste.
  • For a thinner milk, add more water based on your preference.
  • The leftover nut pulp can be dried and used in baking or smoothies to reduce waste.
  • Always store homemade nut milk in a sealed container and shake before use, as natural separation may occur.
