Ingredients
Scale
Nut Milk Ingredients
- 4 cups (930 g) water
- 1 cup (120 g) raw unsalted cashews
- 1/2 cup (85 g) raw unsalted almonds
- 1/4 tsp Diamond Crystal kosher salt
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Add the cashews, almonds, water, and kosher salt into a high-speed blender. Using fresh raw unsalted nuts ensures the creamiest and most neutral-flavored milk.
- Blend Nuts and Water: Start blending on low speed to break down the nuts. Gradually increase the speed to high and blend for a total of 2 minutes until the mixture becomes super creamy and smooth.
- Strain the Milk: Pour the blended mixture through a nut milk bag to separate the nut pulp from the liquid. Gently squeeze the bag to extract as much milk as possible.
- Store Properly: Transfer the strained nut milk into a glass container and refrigerate. Use within 1 week for best freshness and flavor.
Notes
- Use raw unsalted nuts to avoid added flavors and salts that can alter the milk’s taste.
- For a thinner milk, add more water based on your preference.
- The leftover nut pulp can be dried and used in baking or smoothies to reduce waste.
- Always store homemade nut milk in a sealed container and shake before use, as natural separation may occur.
