Dough and Filling
- 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuits (8 biscuits)
- 8 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
Seasoning and Topping
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Serving
- Marinara sauce, for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the puffs.
- Prepare the Biscuits: Separate the biscuits and flatten each one into a circle about 4-5 inches wide, using your hands or a rolling pin for even thickness.
- Add Cheese Filling: Place a small cube of mozzarella cheese in the center of each flattened biscuit round.
- Seal the Puffs: Fold the edges of each biscuit up and around the cheese, pinching to seal completely, forming a ball shape with the cheese enclosed inside.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the sealed biscuit balls seam side down on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.
- Season the Puffs: Brush the melted butter over each puff, then sprinkle evenly with garlic powder and dried Italian seasoning. Optionally, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top for extra flavor.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
- Serve: Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Make sure to seal the dough tightly to prevent cheese from leaking during baking.
- You can substitute mozzarella with other melting cheeses like cheddar or pepper jack for a different flavor.
- For a crispier texture, lightly brush the baked puffs with extra melted butter before serving.
- Refrigerated biscuit dough works best, but homemade biscuit dough can also be used.
- These puffs are best enjoyed fresh and warm from the oven.
