- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
Layers
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1â…“ cups flaked sweetened coconut
- 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). If using a glass baking dish, reduce the temperature to 325°F (165°C) to avoid overheating.
- Prepare the Pan: Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil for easy removal, and lightly coat it with non-stick spray to prevent sticking.
- Make the Crust: In a bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs with melted butter until all crumbs are moistened. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form a firm crust.
- Add Sweetened Condensed Milk: Pour the entire can of sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust, ensuring full coverage.
- Layer the Toppings: Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the sweetened condensed milk. Follow by layering the flaked sweetened coconut and then the chopped nuts on top.
- Press the Layers: Gently press down the layers with the back of a spatula to ensure they adhere together well for uniform baking.
- Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is lightly browned and bubbly.
- Cool and Serve: Let the bars cool completely in the pan before lifting out, cutting into 24 bars, and serving.
