Ingredients
Scale
Meat Sauce
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- Italian seasoning, salt & pepper to taste
Cheese Mixture
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- Italian seasoning, salt & pepper to taste
Other Ingredients
- 25 oz frozen cheese ravioli
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the right temperature while you prepare the layers.
- Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and stir in the marinara sauce. Allow it to simmer for a few minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Prepare Cheese Mixture: In a separate bowl, combine cream cheese, ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well blended.
- Assemble Layers: In a baking dish, start by spreading a layer of the beef and marinara sauce mixture. Next, add a layer of frozen ravioli, followed by a layer of the cheese mixture and a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella. Repeat these layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a top layer of mozzarella cheese.
- Add Parmesan and Bake: Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top layer. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the dish is heated through.
- Rest and Serve: Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving to allow it to set. Enjoy your indulgent, cheesy masterpiece!
Notes
- Use frozen cheese ravioli straight from the freezer; no need to thaw before layering.
- If you prefer a spicier sauce, add red pepper flakes to the marinara and beef mixture.
- For a vegetarian version, omit the ground beef and use a hearty vegetable marinara sauce.
- Letting the lasagna rest before cutting helps the layers hold together better.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for ground beef if preferred.
