Description

Parsley Mint Teeth Cleaner Treats are homemade dog biscuits designed to freshen your dog’s breath and promote dental health using natural ingredients like parsley and mint. These treats are made with whole wheat or oat flour to accommodate gluten-free needs, blended with rolled oats and a mix of dried and fresh herbs for a flavorful, healthy snack your dog will love.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for gluten-free)
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon dried mint
  • ¼ cup finely chopped fresh parsley and mint (optional)

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • â…“ cup water
  • ¼ cup coconut oil (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easy.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, dried parsley, dried mint, and optionally the fresh chopped herbs. Stir well to ensure an even distribution of all ingredients.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, water, melted coconut oil, and optional honey until smooth and well blended.
  4. Create Dough: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms, adding a little extra water if the dough feels too dry and crumbly to work with.
  5. Roll Out Dough: Lightly flour a clean surface and roll the dough to approximately ¼-inch thickness. Use small cookie cutters like bone or heart shapes to cut out dog treat shapes.
  6. Bake Treats: Arrange the cut-out treats on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes or until the treats are dry and firm to the touch.
  7. Cool & Store: Let the treats cool completely on a wire rack before storing them in an airtight container. They can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 weeks or frozen for longer shelf life.
