Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Pizza Puffs are perfect bite-sized snacks ideal for parties, lunchboxes, or after-school treats. These mini pizza muffins combine mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and Italian seasonings baked to golden perfection and served warm with pizza sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup milk

Cheeses and Meats

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni or chopped pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Optional Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped bell peppers or onions (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or parsley (optional for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a mini muffin tin by greasing it or lining it with mini paper liners.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt to evenly distribute all dry components.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and milk together until well combined, then gradually add this mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined to avoid over-mixing.
  4. Add Cheese and Pepperoni: Gently fold in the shredded mozzarella cheese, mini or chopped pepperoni, grated Parmesan cheese, and any optional finely chopped bell peppers or onions for extra flavor and texture.
  5. Fill Muffin Cups: Spoon the batter evenly into the mini muffin cups, filling each about three-quarters full to allow the puffs to rise during baking.
  6. Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the puffs are puffed up and golden brown on top.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the pizza puffs to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the tin. Serve warm with pizza sauce for dipping, garnished with chopped fresh basil or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Perfect for parties, lunchboxes, or after-school snacks.
  • Substitute pepperoni with cooked sausage, mushrooms, or omit meat for a vegetarian option.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat in the oven or air fryer for best results.
