Description

Pizza Tacos offer a fun and delicious twist on classic pizza by combining all the favorite flavors into a crispy taco shell. These easy-to-make treats feature warm flour tortillas shaped into taco shells, filled with zesty pizza sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, mini pepperoni slices, and optional toppings like olives. Perfect for a kid-friendly weeknight dinner or a casual main course, they deliver the perfect blend of crispy, cheesy, and savory all in one bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Tacos Ingredients

  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni slices or chopped pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Tortilla Shells: Preheat your oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a muffin tin or flip a baking rack upside down to create taco-shaped shells by folding tortillas between the wires. Bake the tortillas for 6–8 minutes or until they are lightly crisped and golden brown. Remove them and set aside.
  2. Optional Toasting for Extra Crispness: In a skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil and lightly toast the tortillas on each side for extra crispness. This step adds an additional crunch to your taco shells but can be skipped if preferred.
  3. Assemble the Pizza Tacos: Spread a spoonful of pizza sauce inside each tortilla shell. Fill each with shredded mozzarella, pepperoni, and any optional toppings such as olives. Sprinkle with the Italian seasoning evenly over the top.
  4. Bake Filled Tacos: Place the filled tacos back on a baking sheet and return them to the oven. Bake for another 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove the pizza tacos from the oven and garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Serve immediately to enjoy the tacos at their warmest and crispiest.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize with your favorite pizza toppings such as sausage, mushrooms, or bell peppers.
  • For a kid-friendly meal, allow children to build their own pizza tacos with toppings of their choice.
  • Pizza tacos are best served warm and crisp to retain the perfect texture and flavor.
