Scale
Main Ingredients
- 5 lemons, juiced
- 1/3 cup honey (or other vegan honey substitute)
- 1 cup water
- 1 1/2 cup pomegranate arils (seeds) (or 1 cup pomegranate juice)
- 3-4 cups water or sparkling water
Instructions
- Blend ingredients: Add the lemon juice, honey, 1 cup of water, and pomegranate seeds to a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and the seeds are broken down.
- Strain the mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large jug or pitcher to remove the pulp and seeds, ensuring a smooth lemonade.
- Add remaining water: Stir in the remaining 3 to 4 cups of water or sparkling water to taste, adjusting for preferred strength and fizz.
- Serve: Serve the lemonade chilled with lemon slices, ice cubes, and a few pomegranate arils in each glass for garnish and extra flavor.
Notes
- You can substitute the pomegranate arils with 1 cup of pure pomegranate juice for easier preparation.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of honey according to taste.
- Sparkling water adds a refreshing fizz, but still water works well for a classic lemonade.
- For a vegan option, use a plant-based honey alternative like agave nectar or maple syrup.
- Keep the lemonade refrigerated and consume within 2 days for best freshness.
