Description

Crisp and refreshing Watermelon Fries served with a sweet and creamy vanilla yogurt dip, perfect as a healthy snack or fun appetizer for warm days. Simple to prepare and naturally hydrating with a fruity twist.

Ingredients

Scale

Watermelon Fries

  • 1 Half of a Large Watermelon

Vanilla Yogurt Dip

  • ½ cup Vanilla Yogurt
  • 1 cup Strawberries, stems and leaves removed
  • 1 TB Honey

Instructions

  1. Slice Watermelon: Cut the watermelon in half, then slice into round discs approximately 1/2 inch thick for even thickness.
  2. Halve Discs: Cut each round disc across its middle to form two semi-circle shaped halves, preparing them for easy cutting.
  3. Cut Watermelon Fries: Use a crinkle cutter to slice the semi-circle watermelon pieces from one side to the other, creating fry-like strips.
  4. Remove Rind: Trim off any excess rind from the watermelon fries and compost or discard it.
  5. Prepare Yogurt Dip: Add vanilla yogurt, strawberries, and honey to a blender.
  6. Blend Dip: Blend the ingredients on low speed until smooth and creamy, adjusting honey to taste for sweetness.

Notes

  • Use a crinkle cutter for fun, textured watermelon fries, but a regular knife works as well.
  • Adjust honey quantity in the dip to suit your preferred level of sweetness.
  • Serve immediately for the freshest and crunchiest fries or chill briefly before serving.
  • Strawberries can be substituted with other berries or fruit of choice for the dip.
  • Watermelon rind is edible but best removed to avoid bitterness in fries.
