Description

These White Castle Sliders offer a homemade take on the iconic mini burgers, featuring a savory blend of ground beef, Lipton onion soup mix, and peanut butter for extra flavor and moisture. The sliders are baked on a sheet pan, topped with cheese and onions, and finished with soft slider rolls for an easy, crowd-pleasing meal perfect for parties or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Meat Mixture

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 (2-ounce) packet Lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 onion, finely chopped

Toppings and Assembly

  • 12 cheese slices (Kraft or Velveeta cheese slices recommended)
  • 12 slider rolls

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a baking sheet for the sliders.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Lipton onion soup mix, peanut butter, and milk until fully blended.
  3. Shape and Bake Meat: Spread the meat mixture evenly onto the baking sheet. Use a rolling pin to smooth the surface. Bake for about 10 minutes; note the meat will shrink during baking. Then, scatter the chopped onions around the edges and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  4. Add Onions and Cheese: Remove the meat from the oven, spoon the onions from the edges across the top of the meat, and layer the cheese slices evenly over it. Return to the oven and bake for 7 to 10 minutes until the cheese has melted.
  5. Add Slider Roll Tops: Place the tops of the slider rolls on the cheese layer (the bottom parts of the rolls remain off the pan). Bake for about 5 more minutes to warm the tops.
  6. Assemble Sliders and Serve: Remove from the oven. Using a pizza cutter, slice the meat into 12 individual sliders. Use a spatula to lift each meat and top bun assembly and place it on the bottom bun. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Peanut butter adds moisture and a subtle richness to the meat mixture, helping keep the sliders juicy.
  • Using Lipton onion soup mix provides a convenient and flavorful seasoning.
  • Rolling the meat mixture helps achieve an even thickness for uniform cooking.
  • Chopped onions around the edges contribute to a balanced onion flavor throughout.
  • Use a pizza cutter for quick and clean slicing of the sliders.
  • Serve immediately for best texture and taste.
